…as rumored on other threads, don’t you think it would be more effective as a launch title on a next generation console rather than have it on one of the current systems? I think the series really got its start because it was in the early saturn line up, and was able to establish a fan base, and I think it could work for a new console, so long as it doesn’t directly compete with something like say…Halo 3 for the top spot.
A new PD game should be a nextgen title. To release the game for a console of these days would be to repeat the PDS history when the game was released for a near defunct system when the Saturn was in its last days.
The way I see it, it could work well as an early Xbox 2 or Playstation 3 game. The next generation consoles would be crying out for RPGs in their early stages, so releasing it in the first six months or so of the consoles life would feed the starved RPG fans who own the console and maybe introduce new people to the series who might have otherwise bought another RPG instead (if there were more already out).
Well, I’ve checked the list at GameSpot…and no Dragoons.
Ah well.
Sega hasn’t made their announcement yet like they said they would, and the ‘secret’ titles aren’t announced until near the end of E3. It’s always been like that.
By the way, that list you see at Gamespot is nothing more than the official list - not the secret titles.
Well… Ok the announcement was a dud but meh, let’s place blame on SOA, they are the ones that proclaimed the announcement, no? (If I’m wrong sorry…)
And as far as MMORPGs go TMO has some interesting ideas so I wouldn’t make it their “biggest mistake ever” or anything like that, I bet it will sell by the truckload…
oh? did they confirm it? i thought people just assumed the matrix game was the big announcement…
i could have sworn i heard them say that it was unrelated to any specific game… or maybe i could have sworn i heard someone say that they said it was unrelated to a specific game
