The games above Exhumed have better long-term playability, hence their higher rank. Still, it wasn’t easy makin’ that list.

I can’t do it. there’s just too many saturn games i really enjoy to pick a fave from. especially from the japanese side.

  1. Azel (as I like to think of the game, besides that way I’m not picking Saga as #1!)

  2. Tomb Raider (literally the best version ever made, underwater felt like being under water instead of being in a disco)

  3. Zwei (essentially perfection, but like a belgian truffle short and sweet and can’t indulge too often)

  4. Guardian Heroes (still waiting for anything in 3D to come close to this madness)

  5. Fighting Vipers (somehow better than the arcade, only reason any fighting game can get into a console list for me)

  6. Powerslave/Exhumed (probably the best “in your face Playstation” title around, plus it debuted Death Tank!)

  7. Radiant Silvergun (weirdness, intenseness, trippyness, happiness)

  8. Panzer Dragoon (couldn’t fully enjoy it till after playing sequels and getting a cheap mission stick)

9)Steep Slope Sliders (for some reason this is the only snowboarding game I’ve ever been into)

  1. Silhouette Mirrage (yeah I love em all, though I almost hated this one for a while that’s what made it really special it made you play very different from the same old same old)

Same here! I’ve tried a fair few snowboarding games over the years but this is the only one I’ve ever had any fun with. :slight_smile:

I’m ashamed to say I never played any of the Saturn “Shining” games… and the double-irony is that I was a member of Moogie’s Shining Force forums for absolutely years (and supposedly its still around, though it hasn’t aged well) …
O’course, it doesn’t quite compare to the regret that I never got to buy PDS … ;_; …

I feel kinda guilty trying to make this list, 'cause there were tonnes of Saturn games I always wanted to try but never got to… Enemy Zero, Nights (with an analogue stick, anyway), Burning Rangers, Steep Slope Sliders, Shining the Holy Ark, Radiant Silvergun, Bomberman, the Rainbow Islands/Bubble Bobble pack, Sonic Jam, Dragon Force, Silhouette Mirage, Vampire Savior etc.

But of the ones I played, it’d be something like:

  1. Panzer Dragoon Saga
  2. Magic Carpet (I’m guessing the PC version is better, but I’ve never played it)
  3. Virtual On
  4. Virtua Fighter 2
  5. Guardian Heroes
  6. Panzer Zwei
  7. Starfighter 3000
  8. Streetfighter Collection (in theory, though the conversion job on the older games was atrocious)
  9. Virtua Cop 2
  10. Die Hard Arcade

I played a few others that some have voted for like SF3 (PAL), Sega Rally, Sonic R, Dark Saviour (PAL)… and I liked them, but they never gripped me the way they do some people.

Oh, and honourable mention to the Space Hulk game which would have been pretty good except for the horrendous bug that auto-killed any of your men who got into melee range against any ranged attacker, making genestealers the least of your worries.

Nights and Burning Rangers
Any of the VF and FV games inc. Fighters Megamix
Marvel Superheroes and Street Fighter Alpha 3
OutRun and Sega Rally '95
Grandia and Albert Odyssey Gaiden
All of the Panzer Dragoon games

I also like Darius Gaiden and the Strikers 1945 games. (So basically yes, I have no particular favorites :anjou_embarassed: )

making top ten is heresy. One piece of art isn’t “better” than an other, and the top saturn games are what you can call oeuvre d’art.

and anyway saga isn’t just a game :stuck_out_tongue: …
