Finding the baby dragon inside shelcoof/concerns, questions

In Panzer Drgoon Zwei, Lagi hybernates inside a dragon crest inside shelcoof, but is also seen flying as the blue dragon across the sea continuing on to the next game with kyle. Now I don’t understand why the baby dragon is inside the dragon crest found within shelcoof. Did Lagi leave a part of himself inside shelcoof? After leaving a part of himself inside shelcoof he continued his mission as the blue dragon, helping the sky ridder. Do the dragon crests enable dragons to reproduce. Could the baby dragon be Lagis offspring? Also, if we last saw Lagi as the blue dragon in Panzer Dragoon, why does he appear so different as Panzer Wing in Panzer Drgoon Saga? If Panzer Wing were Lagi, wouldnt he have the apperance of the blue dragon from the last game. Or after have destroyed the tower in Panzer Drgoon, did Lagi exhaust all of his strength and revert to a lesser form, the Panzer Wing? I know people have said that every dragon in all of the Panzer games is Lagi. Its seems like the dragon in Panzer Drgoon Saga isnt Lagi. Why would Lagi have to find D units to become the blue dragon. If he were Lagi, would’t he just morph into the blue dragon like in zwie.

I think of the baby dragon and the merge with it and transformation as a game bonus, not something relevant to the story…
And it’s Lagi, look how different he’s in Orta even tho he’s still the same…
And in Saga he doesn’t become the Blue Dragon, he becomes the Solo Wing dragon which not only can take the blue dragon form but other Zwei forms as well…
Some ppl say the baby holds the “data” of the zwei forms thats why u can morph to those when you merge with it but I still prefer thinking of it as a game bonus for the fans of the series to get to play as those forms again…
If anythin there’s official timelines that mention that it’s Lagi in all three games…I’m too bored to try and dig one up now though…do some research on your own

I’ve thought about this a lot, and these points are some of the main reasons that I believe the whole “hibernation” theory is a bit flawed. I have actually come up with an entire theory of my own regarding how the dragon continues from game to game, what the Dragon Crests are really meant to be doing, etc. It seems to escape all of the continuity errors the hibernation idea falls prey to (it goes along the general lines of the dragon “spirit” - the impurity from Sestren - having different physical bodies).

Though I know that concept is hardly new, my theory is quite different from any other one I’ve seen on this site or these boards, so I’ll post the whole thing here tonight when I have time, if that’s OK - I’d like to hear what you guys think about it.

The question one has to ask oneself is : what is Lagi anyway?

I say he is a soul.We have always considered him so in these boards I think.

Theories can differ alot simply cause Lagi can also be related strictly to the coolia we see in Zwei. After he died we have no more Lagi only a dragon.

Yes, do share your theory with the rest of us. We can never get enough of those.

The dragon is the same throughout all the games, so all we can really do is reconcile his chosen shapes with the facts surrounding his movements from game to game. Destroying the Tower in Panzer Dragoon probably expended so much of the dragon’s energy that he was forced to return to a less powerful form in order to recover his strength. Indeed, it would take tremendous amounts of power to completely vaporise a Tower.

I’d say that Lagi is the name of the physical coolia who became a dragon. Lundi, his first rider, said "I couldn’t kill him, because Lagi had a pair of wings. So, he was talking about the physical creature. Would Lundi have known about Lagi’s other half I wonder?

I agree - “Lagi”, strictly speaking, just refers to that original, physical being. It’s fair enough, though, that it is often used to loosely refer to the dragon in many ways.

As for Lundi knowing about Lagi’s “other half” - the Heresy Dragon / Impurity - I am positive that he did. To escape sounding like a broken record, I’ll point people to my reasoning in the “Theory about the Dragon Crests” thread for details.

Man I’ll have to read all those lines…

It’s gonna take me a while … :stuck_out_tongue:

I think Lundi dind’t knew about Heresy until he became a seeker, and thus a compiler…

Quite possibly… although Lagi may have revealed it to him in his final vision as well.

Indeed, carrying a discussion over multiple threads can get confusing

It’s always the original coolia Lagi “possessed” by the Heresy Dragon…
I don’t see how any theory that claims it’s not Lagi could stand up on its own when we know that in Orta it’s just Lagi and not the Heresy Dragon at all anymore…
He’s reffered to as Lagi in the official flash site as well, I’ll try and find it again if it’s still up…
Lundi did know about the Heresy Dragon possibly but he did NOT know it when he named and raised Lagi…he was just your average villager back then…

I beg to differ, Al3xand3r - check the topic currently debating this for my (incresingly epic) alternate theory. I think we should at least be open to the possibility of the “Heresy Dragon” taking on differnent bodies, what with the alternative concept - it staying in one body - being contradicted by quite a few things in the games. (And the fact that it is never stated that the dragon is still Lagi at the end of the series.)
