Favourite Panzer Dragoon in-game music tracks?

:anjou_love:

But what are your favourites? In game i mean, when you play it, what tracks really set the mood for you =) Usually they are the ones that when you listen to them, just just give you imagery of you playing that part (actually thats about all of the tracks XD)
It would be too hard to say just one for some people (like myself) so i’m gonna choose a few =)

Atolm Dragon: What can I say? This music gave me my introduction to saga with that amazing intro. Its fast pace and variety of instruments make me love it.
A Premonition of War: On one of the first levels =) This just sounds so amazing, and to me, this music defines PDS.
Pure Blood Seed: I played the demo for so long, once i stayed in the forbidden zone for a bit cos i didn’t want to finish it too soon (again). The battle music here was just so… mystical =)
The Expected Enemy: I found this music really unique compared to what had been played so far through the game (Saga was my first PD game remember). I never really noticed the music the first time i played through PDS, but when i did it again (a few years after) i payed attention to it, and it sucked me deeper into the game.
Water Ruins: I remember just flying around Uru for the first time. So beautiful, calm and relaxing…
By the Source of the Protective Flame: It reminds me of that kid in the holy district that became my friend :anjou_happy:
Imperial Air Force and Holy Chariot: These just seem like perfect warship music

P.S - On Imperial Air Force… does yours (if you have it) suddenly cut out at the end? mine is 3:43 minutes long…

I’ll try naming six (the favourite three from each of the TA games + 2) but apart from most Orta themes, the PD1 title screen theme and the PDI credits theme I really love all PanDra music!

:Interception
:The Imperial District Goes Up In Flames

:Lagi & Lundi (and variants)
:PD1’s Opening - Theme

:Expected Enemy
:Vision 1

PD is full of amazing music, so it’s difficult to single tracks out.

Still, I usually end up giving props to Lagi and Lundi, since most of the time no one else does.

sea of ice 1 - PDZ

title and credits symphonies - PD

“demo” - PDZ (the harpsicord melody in the FMV montage)

The orchestral works in PD by Yoshitaka Azuma are simply the best of the best in PD. Those songs really defined how beautiful PD is to me.

Not including Orta, I don’t think there’s any Panzer music I don’t like, but my favorites include:

  • The PD orchestral opening/credits
  • Atolm Dragon
  • Vision 1
  • Sona Mi Areru Ec Sancitu
  • Raid

PS Interesting little factoid - as of today, I have officially been a member of this community for one year! :anjou_happy:

Just Panzer Dragoon Saga?

Atolm Dragon
Interception
A Premotion of War
Holy Chariot
By the Source of the Protective Flame
Transformation 1

…looks like my selection basically mirrors Scott’s favourites

I don’t know how someone can like the PD1 title screen theme and the credits theme! :anjou_wow:

They felt so unpanzerish. They weren’t in the same vein as the themes in the game. The one orchestral theme in PD1 that really pwns is Flight (the them from the first level).

They sounded plenty like Panzer Dragoon to me. :anjou_sigh:

it’s the first music any of us heard from the panzer world! how can it be unpanzerish!? :anjou_angry:

The first PD music I heard was Legend of Light thank you very much.Secondly I already explained how in my previous post.

I see what you mean Gehn, but in that sense I wouldn’t say the PD1 soundtrack itself was really “Panzerish”, as it’s all in quite a different style to the PDZ and PDS and even PDO soundtracks - those seemed intentionally much closer, as far as I could tell. (In that interview TA posted, Team Andromeda also said that the composers started specifically basing certain tracks around the Ancient Age, the Empire, the monsters etc. after the first game, which I’d guess caused more familiar themes to start emerging.)

Not that I disliked Mr. Azuma’s soundtrack, of course. If I ever see the disc on sale anywhere I’ll be buying it myself. :anjou_happy:

Oh, my favourite PDS tracks - I nearly forgot. :anjou_happy: Well like quite a few people I thought Atolm Dragon and Sona Mi Areru Ec Sancitu were tops, so I won’t bore you with any more on those two…

The Chaos Within the Silence and maybe Path to the Being were probably my favourite slower tracks, and they both seemed to fit the quiet / mysterious nature of their surroundings very well… I’d say Imperial Air Force, Interception and Vision 1 are my favourite up-tempo background and battle tracks; they seemed to get the level of action just right.

Ancient Weapon is used a lot in the second half of the game, but it always reminds me of the (relatively impressive) battle against Drenholm where it first crops up. And The Final Battle is probably more like ambiant sound than a music track, but I thought it fit very well; it seemed to convey a sense of something very alien and menacing, and it was more original than having a really action-packed final boss piece (as in many videogames).

Can’t really agree with that, For 1 thing they were in the very 1st Panzer game. How can you not say they aren’t Paner-ish.

The title music conveys the impression of Flight . Very much in keeping with Panzer Dragoon.
And the end credit music For me conveyed a epic battle was over, and a sense of sadness . Still that just my take on it .

My Fav tracks all

Panzer Dragon > Intro, Ep 3, Ep 7, Boss 2

Panzer Dragoon Zwei > EP 1/Boss, EP 3/Boss, EP 5/1 (Love this track), EP 7 .

SAGA > All of it :). Best music score EVER!!!.

ORTA > Anicent Weapon 1 (Can’t get the tune of my head) ,Fallen Ground, Imperial City (God I love this track),Anu ORTA Veniya.

I already explained : those two themes have nothing to do with the songs thu-out the actual game. They feel out of place.

And they aren’t ment too.
They are the tile and credit music.

Also people could say the same about Anu Orta Veniya, Sona Mi Areru.

For 1 thing they have Lyrics . And sound nothing like the In-Game music to their respective tiles.

Plus the very 1st Level of Panzer Dragoon Opens with a classical music score, and it end with a classic music composed by a real orchestra.

I say that in-keeping :).

Look I’m not have a go at you or you views (don’t want to come across as being nasty. Just find them a bit puzzling

and also gehn you were the ignorant one in the way you said “I can’t see why anyone can like…” I think all the “orchestra” tracks are very panzerish. I guess the first games music was more influenced by the nausicaa soundtrack that’s all. btw has anyone seen howl’s moving castle yet?

I didn’t get what you were trying to say Team Andromeda.Anu Orta and Soni Mi Areru feel more panzerish cause of the very melody and instruments used.

LC:I’m ignorant cause I don’t find the orchestral tracks very panzerish?I didn’t even call anyone ignorant.
