I moved recently and have been offline for about two weeks - but I’ve managed to come up with an early build of the game engine (on foot). I know we’re not going to be playing as Edge (but whatever) ^-^, here’s what I’ve got so far.
Sliding Collision Detection;
PSO-style (pseudo) camera/controls;
Exciting title screen (if I do say so myself - you’ll have to see it in motion)
Probably a good 50 hours worth of work in there. It doesn’t look like much, but I’ve never made that kind of control scheme before and I haven’t had the internet for any resources.
The shadow of the flying dragon in the title screen does indeed bear all the hallmarks of something exciting. I also like the symbols chiseled into the surface of the stone wall in the background.
Btw, Feveth: Al3xand3r was asking if you’re able to use the 3D models he made in Dark Basic. He posted some of them in the “Who wants to make Genos a real game?” thread.
