Considering the fact that Azel has access to cloning and reproductive technology - the same tech that was used to create Orta - it is safe to assume that she could also recreate her dragon, Atolm. I honestly think she should - Atolm was very cool.

PDO SPOILERS!!!*********
First of alll we needed to be absolute sure that Azel is alive. But even if she is…
I’m pretty sure she couldn’t cause she probably wouldn’t ahev the needed Atolm DNA data with her.
I wonder where Atolm comes from in the first place. A tower? Or maybe it just mysteriously gets to Azel after she is awakened. You never really see Atolm until Azel’s already riding him/her/it.
It probably followed her right out of the mine like a tagalong puppy.
I always thought Atolm was the dragon that took down that Airship in the valley, anyway.

Whoa. Good point. btw, when you blow up that ship’s engine and the recording/message plays, what does it say?
Atolm was being carried by that airship in the valley. Atolm was probably excavated at a different digsite, however.
I think it’s safe to assume that Atolm was recovered at Excavation Site #4, where Azel was unearthed. Atolm was Azel’s dragon from the Ancient Age, after all, so it would make perfect sense if they were being “stored” together.
The recorder in that wrecked ship said that Craymen’s fleet destroyed the ship to steal Atolm from them. As Site #4 was just a short way south of there, it seems that they were trying to tow the dormant Atolm away (as the Empire later did with the Guardian Dragon from Shelcoof).
EDIT: It’s worth keeping in mind the massive scale of the PD world. It would seem unlikely that the Empire excavated Atolm somewhere else, and then coincidentally carryied it back past the exact ruin where its “master” (Azel) lay sleeping.
Did anyone notice that the sunken ship in the valley was black?
The description of Atolm’s final form states that its hellfire upgrades were the weapons it used in the Ancient Age.
Atolm is supposed to be Azel’s guardian but whether it was stolen during the Ancient Age like she was, or built from scratch is what I want to know.
I think Azel said herself that Atolm was made LONG ago sepcially for her.
Oh and what about the ship beeing black Geoffrey?
Craymen’s Armada?
The downed ship was black, so I’m a little confused about the contents of the ship’s final log.
If someone could provide the text it would be cool.
I always saw it as a burned (by the explosion) Imperial ship.

It was definitely a normal Imperial Enforcer Geoff, it just looked a bit “dark” due to the surroundings. (I remember it being easier to tell if you looked at it from different angles.)
It makes good sense that it’s an Imperial ship too; Craymen evidently stole Atolm from them in the same way that he stole Azel. He simply sat back and let the Empire excavate these things for him, then swooped in to reap the prizes.
As far as I can remember, Azel just said that Atolm was “prepared” for her in the Ancient Age, so it’s possible that he was stolen also.
Here you go Gehn, and it apparently is meant to be an Imperial battleship because it says so right there in the text.
(Remember that it’s two recorded voices talking to one another):
**…Do you have any idea
what this means?
There’s no reply from
Lord Craymen’s ship!
…I cannot let that dragon
fall into the wrong hands…
All units,
man your battle stations!
It’s too late.
Missiles rapidly approaching…
We can’t evade!!
(The dragon was stolen from them?
…Could there be more dragons!?)
(Destroyed Imperial Battleship…
Did they fight with Craymen?)
(The battleship… it’s crumbling…)**
