I’ve never heard of it before, so thank you very much for the info. It looks absolutely fantastic. I’m not even going to bother with the demo: I know I’ll love it. In all likelihood, I’ll be purchasing it tomorrow.
Trust me it’s awesome. The music is excellent the gameplay is fun, and the graphics are just gorgeous! I’ve already been playing for 14 hours and am still having a blast.
How’s the story? I’m not expecting much depth, but from the vids you linked to I am expecting solid execution and an imaginative premise. Something about what I’ve seen of the game gives me a bit of an ICO vibe: simplicity and grace.
You are exactly right, the game has somewhat of an ICO vibe. As you venture through the game you witness the downfall of ancient civilizations and the stories behind their destruction, as well as finding Nijas lost memories.
There are some awesome boss battles remenisant of Secret of Mana 3.
Well, I just beat this incredible game, and all I can say is: that was an epic last boss battle. This game was made by 3 people and it’s level of quality is truly unbelievable.
A little over 23 hours, and that’s because I spent time, exploring the entire map, collecting treasure, recepies, armor, and finding all of Niajas memories.
A respectable amount of time. I tend to most commonly gear myself towards short-but-sweet adventures instead of 40+ hour games, so that sounds good to me!
Ecco meets Metroidvania more or less. Interesting atmosphere and pacing though. Been waiting for this for ages but it’s not the only good indie game released recently. I got both this one and Eschalon: Book 1 (a CRPG which deserves its own thread but I’m tired atm) and I’m equally impressed by both so far. It’s a shame I will probably finish neither before I have to get back to “work” but there’s always the next days off to look forward to…
