In Orta’s Pandora’s Box there is a slightly modified version of the Zwei ending to include a picture of Azel. This picture is in the vision of the future sent to Lundi before Lagi leaves him and presumably represents what actually happened.
Lundi went on to form the Seekers(presumably so named because they are seeking for the divine visitor although thats another topic). Lundi definately had knowledge of Azel, however I wonder if he knew more than just what she looked like. If Lundi knew something important, maybe the Seekers were briefed to actually look for Azel(although this would mean that Gash would have been acting dumb as he seemed not overly concerned with Azel). This is a lot of ifs but if Lundi knew about Orta along with his knowledge of Azel, this might be why the Seekers keep her captive. Not very likely considering Gash’s reactions but I still think the fact that Lundi knew of Azel is important somehow. Maybe you guys can come up with some theories/destroy mine?

The knowledge Lundi was given set him on a path that would later help Azel. The whole reason the Seekers researched drones was to find a way to destroy the ancient ruins terraforming the planet. Drones were a good start; the Heresy dragon naturally put Lundi on the right path who in turn pushed the Seekers in the right direction. That was the role Lundi played. I doubt Azel could have been reactivated after the events inside the Tower (i.e. Craymen’s death) without the aid of the Seekers.
Team Andromeda had not planned ahead as far as Orta; she was Smilebit’s creation. Lundi saw Azel, but I doubt he was told anything other than what she was designed to do. If that involved the ability to reproduce, then he would have almost certainly shared that knowledge with Gash.
Obviously the Seekers know more about Orta, enough to frighten them into imprisoning her. However, new leadership may perceive Orta as nothing more than a very useful tool. Either way, they could have noble goals.
Gash certainly knew about Azel, and her powers. His people did whatever they could to stop her from dying. So yeah, my best guess is that they got this knowledge from Lundi too, or perhaps from some other ancient sources. Lundi was studying drones, it’s easy to understand why he was doing so if he knew about Azel.
While Lundi had a great influence on the Seekers, he didn’t actually form them. The Seekers have been around for over 200 years, long before the Empire came into existance. Sorry to be a nitpicker.

Am I right in assuming that it was Smilebit who put the picture of Orta into the Zwei ending? This could imply that they intend to use Lundi’s knowledge of Azel as part of there own new plot, thats why I thought he might know something about Orta, rather than them just placing it there to rationalise bits of PDS.

Perhaps Lundi knew that Azel could reproduce, and this would have some effect on the future of the world. The Seekers could have aquired this knowledge… but that still wouldn’t explain why they would imprision Orta.
I suppose for my theory to have any real weight they would have had to put in a picture of Orta in Zwei which they didnt. However I still think there is a possibility they wil do something with it.
Lundi wouldn’t have known about Orta though, since she hadn’t been born yet. Azel on the other hand had been around for 10,000 years. So your theory could be correct if Lundi knew that Orta could be created.
Its no wonder I didn’t remember seeing Azel in Zwei’s ending. Anyhow I think they are simply trying their best to tie the stories together for newbies who took the trouble to watch the movies to understand more about the previous games.
