I recall there were/are a few fans of George R. R. Martin’s fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire on these forums. Well, Martin has announced the release date of his latest book, A Dance with Dragons. July 12, 2011 can’t come soon enough.

For anyone unfamiliar with Martin’s work, this is arguably the best fantasy series available since Tolkien.
And there’s a TV series coming in April, by none other than HBO.
