For me, the “problem” with Xbox is that it sits too comfortably in the middle - Playstation is so big that you get niche games like Gregory Horror Show and Mad Meastro - whereas Nintendo are so far the other way that all the mainstream stuff slips them by and you’re left with their own brand of uniqueness.
The only Xbox specific game I own that breaks that mold somewhat is Shin Megami Tensei NiNE - which isn’t saying much, considering MegaTen has been around since the NES.
Halo 2 on Xbox live + Orta + JSRF + OutRun2 was enough to persuade me and i haven’t looked back. I doubt I’ll buy anything else though.

Al3xand3r your argument about better prequels is not really a good way to judge a console’s quality IMO.Both the GC and the PS2 would suffer as much if not more…
Well I just meant I don’t consider JSRF that worthy as a game, I preffered the original by far…

I couldn’t care less about systems sellers Saturn and Mega CD had very few of them still my fav systems I ever owned. Dreamcast didn’t have many systemsellers and a lot of games are also out on other systems, even the PC now you’re going to tell me that’s a bad system too.
This PC Bullcr8p doesn’t intrest me inthe slightest.
If you think I was happy that the likes of Tomb Radier II were also out the PC you got another thing coming. I’m was a gutted Saturn owner that loved the 1st game , having a PC that I could run the game did not make me feel any better. I just hate gaming onthe PC apart from my GC F1GP4 fix which my PC today can just about run. So it was never going to run Doom III or HL II, so I was more than happy with the X-Box versions I enjoyed Duke Nukem 3D and Quake far more onthe Saturn , I really hate PC gaming
People should go back and play JSR onthe DC becasue its pales to that of the X-Box version. The world is now just so much bigger and faster too (JSR looks so painfully slow now) The only part that was better inthe DC original, was the class police chief Who was not only used better , but had bags more character .
Bags and bags of racing games on the N64 and CUBE I think not ???. X-Box even kicks the PS2 ass into touch when it comes to racers , and most 3rd party games looks and run better onthe X-Box, have better control thanks to the shouder triggers, and also the X-Box as SEGA GT , Rallisport II Forza which makes GT 3/IV look just as lame as its drone AI when it comes to gameplay.
Your right the X-Box didn’t have many figthers , but Kung Fu Chaos is the best multi player fighter I’ve played after VF .
The thought that went into the charaters and more so the stage desgin was fantasic (M$ should have bought these guys) playing the level when you have to jump over a swinging pole in 4 player mode is one of the best laughs I’ve ever had. And there’s nothing on anyother machine that comes close to the magic that is ORTA and O.TO.GI II and Ninja Gaiden is so good I went out and bought Black to play and finish the game again (still only ranked #6400) Phantom Dust is a work of art and I really loved Crimison Skies and MM III (much like KFC never get any credit)
JSRF is possibly my fave game of the generation. It admittedly lost some things from the original but it also fixed everything I thought was broken in the original. First and foremost that JSRF actually had a sense of speed.
There’s nothing wrong with the XBOX library, but it’s lacking most in the style of games the majority of people on a Panzer Dragoon fansite would be interested in obviously. And with a very few sterling exceptions it got the shaft from Japanese developers, for generally predictable and understandable reasons.
I still get somewhat irked whenever I see the same tired blanket dismissals of XBOX based on what it doesn’t have. If it’s not the console for you great, just like Gamcube isn’t the console for me. But I still know every console has at least 100 games that someone thinks is the cat’s meow.
I’d say because of what happend to Sega with the Xbox their game evolution on that format never really begun. If things were different who knows what they might have pulled out from their technical box of tricks as well as where the PANZER DRAGOON story would have gone to if it had more than one follow up on the system.
Now i have to wait and fear that a new PANZER DRAGOON may be headed towards the PS3,if it has any chance of becoming a real success and sustain the franchise to have more installments.
Until you get to the Skyscraper level and you lose the will to live.
