They patched-in a 24-angle directional scheme, but that?s still a poor number IMO. How many directions did the Saturn?s analogue controller allow? I?m sure it was more than that. I can?t speculate how many the PS2?s version had; perhaps that?s the reason.
I’ve just noticed that Steam doesn’t show leaderboards as a feature. Is this the case, or just a mistake in the listing?

If indeed the Steam version doesn’t have leaderboards that’s quite a large oversight given the score-based nature of the game.
I’m about to try the PC version of this wonderful game. Yeah.
