I have to question your sanity, because that was, quite possibly, one of the most disappointing games I’ve ever played. I’m sure I’m in the minority, but that game was all flash and no substance. After a while, the fancy effects (wall running, etc.) wear off, and you’re just left with a poor game that relies on enemies blocking 98% of your attacks as difficulty. Not to mention that virtually item you found (new weapons, that is), was essentially worthless save for a few minor uses.

New weapons implies that you at least got past Chapter 1, which a few people can’t do. But did you get past, say, Chapter 7?
Regardless, you’re not playing the game correctly if you are being blocked consistantly. You should be able to bypass blocks, feint attacks and pummel the enemies within their given time limit (press white, click left thumbstick).

Shinobi was a much more entertaining “Ninja” game and a lot more difficult, in my opinion.
I don’t Ninja Gaiden even tries to fool anyone into thinking it’s a ninja gaiden. Those games just can’t be compared.NG is purely an action game.

Oh, I got quite far in the game, but after a while, it simply lost it’s appeal. Luckily, I had only rented it, so I didn’t feel very cheated out of my 6 bucks. A friend of mine bought it, brand new, and ended up not liking it; but, he played it until the first last level and beat the game, and agrees with me that virtually all the weapons just don’t match up to your starting weapon. And he even went so far as to get the “best” sword in the game. I had just found the game to be really quite disappointing and overhyped, especially since I had been looking forward to it from around the time it was announced.
Ninja Gaiden is a decent title from what I’ve played of it, and this is coming from someone who isn’t a big fan of the hack and slash genre. It’s main flaw is its camera angles, however… the camera will sometimes switch to an annoying view in the heat of battle, where you can’t see exactly what is going on. Not so good in an action game.
As for the list, I guess it just comes down to a matter of opinion. I’d personally add Halo 2 (despite its flaws, it’s one of the most balanced multiplayer FPSs I’ve ever played), Knights of the Old Republic, and Sonic 3 and Knuckles.
I suspect that with many of the titles they’re basing them on how groundbreaking they were at the time (like someone mentioned before), otherwise the latest
"version" would usually get higher on the list, unless the gameplay was worse.
