The Dreamcast wins IMO. I was so pissed off with Sega when Saturn owners missed out on Grandia, and the final two parts of Shining Force III that I almost never bought a Dreamcast. However, the promise of Grandia 2 quickly brought me back into the Sega camp where I also enjoyed greatly Resident Evil Code: Veronica for the Dreamcast. The better than arcade perfect conversion of Daytona which came out (at long last) not long after Sega decided to scrap the console for good has also earned a place among my favourite games of all time.
Although I never owned Ecco the Dolphin: DOTF, I spent more than a few hours immersing myself in the underwater realms presented in beautiful 3D graphics the game is so famous for.
Maybe if all of the Saturn’s best games had reached our shores, it would better stand up to criticism.
