Shame, that . . . I’ll probably try and make good backups as well, as even though there’s a lot of fuss about packaging and “collector” stuff, it’s the magical data that really matters.
It seems pretty good all-round to me.
The only problem that I’ve had is running US NiGHTS on my Japanese Saturn, but that’s a whole other issue . . . I just hope it’s not my Saturn itself, although that wouldn’t explain how it’s played every other game I’ve thrown at it (including UK NiGHTS!) Apparently, US NiGHTS has US and Japan region codes, so will work on both “out-of-the-box”, which is interesting and I’ll need to try out . . . but I digress!
Too bad the English voice acting isn’t up to the same standard as the music. The story in this game was actually kind of believable. Oh yeah, and there’s not just one, but two black guys who sacrifice their lives to save the white hero! OMG how racist!
Now if only they used Yu Suzuki’s Shenmue engine for the 3D models.
I still need to hunt down a few more Saturn gems. Not many games pushed the Saturn as much as Exhumed/Power Slave, Guardian Heroes, PD Saga and Radiant Silvergun.
Reminds me a lot of Cameron’s “The Abyss”.
Wasn’t there a PC version? Or am I just imagining things, because the name Deep Fear sounds awfully familiar.
I love RS, definately my favourite vertical shooter. It’s not over rated at all, that’s just what suckers say when they pay rediculous eBay prices for it.
I just got it off bittorent, patched it to PAL and swap trick it with my copy of International shitty Victory Goal. Same with PDS.
