Hmmm.... More speculation?

I see. Well, damn. I suppose this isn’t so bad. I’ve been leaning toward re-buying an X-box for awhile now, and if this turns out to be true, I suppose I’ll just have to go through with it.

NDS = Nintendo Double-Screen, the “revolutionary” new hand held coming Nintendo.

Although it is completely unlikely, that list is a SEGA fans wet dream. Only he forgot to stick NiGHTS 2 on there

I would hate to see a sequel to NiGHTS, and NiGHTS is my number 1 favourite game of all time.

I agree. It is folly to best perfection. That and the fact that the true Sonic Team will never make it.

The “true” Sonic Team? What’s that mean? (By the way, the guy who made the Sonic Adventure/Heroes games is the same guy behind NiGHTS…)

I thought Naoto Oshima was the man behind NiGHTS? He’s the director and creator of the character NiGHTS I know that. And Naoto Oshima left Sonic Team right after Sonic Adventure (he only did the CG movies for that game) to start Artoon (Blinx).
Yuji Naka was Producer and Lead Programmer of NiGHTS into dreams.

Or am I missing something…?

After the completion of Sonic 1 on MD/Gensis apparently Yuji Naka got shirty with the way things were done and knicked off to the US where he made Sonic 2, 3 and S&K with his American Sonic Team.
NiGHTs was the triumphant return of the same creative team who made Sonic 1. Huzzah! It clearly shows. NiGHTs was a revelation giving that same feel of innovation and sheer brilliance that people got when Sonic was first released. The team pumped out Sonic Jam and Burning Rangers.
Next to come would be Sonic Adventure, after which several members (as stated Naoto Oshima went off to Artoon and Blinx) and Sonic Adventure 2 was once more made with this US Sonic Team again and so was Sonic Heroes.
Or so Im pretty sure, I’ll have to do some fact checking I guess, or at least find a source, but Im certain this is the case.
The point I was trying to make is that, I spose we could call it “classic” Sonic Team, is no longer together and Yuji Naka himself seems to have moved from games development to a more administrative role, taking care of the business side to his Sonic Team. As such the same creative heads that brought us NiGHTs wouldnt be around for Round 2

It’s not folly, it’s impossible. Perfection is something at it’s absolute best. You can’t get better than that, so you can’t beat it.

I find people who think NiGHTS is perfect to be a bit short-sighted. The game’s concept rocks, the game’s playability rocks…but nowadays, the graphics are looking a bit dated, the Nightopians get away with murder for taking up nearly 200blocks on your Saturn’s memory (yes, I AM aware I can delete it, but the music remaining the same sucks) and there isn’t a boss attack mode.

What is needed is perhaps a NiGHTS update. The original game, albeit with enhanced graphics, combined with Christmas NiGHTS/NiGHTS Limited Edition (with all it entails), more Nightopian interaction as Claris and Elliot (w/o that bloody clock) and maybe 2 new courses, with more unlockable with amazing scores (500k+). I, for one, would like to see a Dream set in Nightmare, maybe set in a creepy clock tower or something.

I refer to it as perfect for such a short and easy game it was I still find it exciting and playable as ever. Obviously, a game as playable as this always begs for more spit and polish in the way of more levels and options and refinement. I dunno. I think the gameplay was nailed the first time.

The gameplay WAS nailed the first time. What I’m saying is, there are people who think a NiGHTS sequel would destroy the legend because it would try to improve on the formula. If the basic structure remained the same, just with new levels/graphics, then NiGHTS 1.5 would rock.

Oh for sure it would rock. However it would undoubtedly draw crticism for not being as innovative as the original and would dispell the legend that surrounds it. Basically they have to leave it alone to maintain its legendary status.

I dun think he’s shitting us ppl because the-magicbox.com/gaming.htm has pictures of Sega Superstar!!!

THIS COULD MEAN PANZER NUMBER 5 AND SHENMUE 3!!! KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED!!!

THIS COULD BE THE BEST E3 EVER FOR SEGA!

Hmm, perhaps. He called Sega Superstars the sequel to Fighters Megamix. That magic-box link says Superstars is an eyetoy mini game collection.
So if he’s not making porky-pies he is at least misinformed. I shall remain skeptical.

Admittedly, you are probably right. If we look at other games, however, such as FIFA (shudder), Mario, Sonic etc, then we can see a hole in the argument. The video game market is a strange place, though.

Hey! This girl’s a good friend of mine:

But, oh, just so you know, that list is a load of crap. He happened to get the “Superstars” name right, but the contents of the game were completely off.

Nice zombie slapping girl

EyeToy = Star Trek’s Holodeck build 0.00001

Oh, well. That games list was too good to be true.

I prefer to think of Eyetoy as “gimmick”.

Actually, I think the EyeToy represents something very interesting. It’s VERY popular in the US and even moreso in Europe.

Why? I think there’s a huge population of people who want to play games, who like playing games, but find them too inaccessible, due to the complex controls/controllers.

And most people prefer to play games as social activities.

That makes EyeToy perfect. It allows them to play a game with no prerequisite knowledge, and allows them to do it with friends.

Hmm but in the case of FIFA perhaps becuase it is trying to replicate something that exists in actual reality it is easier for fans bite down the sometimes minimal additions as it is one step closer to realism. That and also it gets a whole bunch of advertising
And as for Mario and Soinc, perhaps due to these characters appearing in different kinds of genres (like boardgames, racing games and the like) maybe gamers are just desperate to play these characters in their “natural environments” and as such any return to the “natural” is good enough.
I dunno
